Sounds like a plan to me.

Thanks again for the help.
Please post the output of clinfo
Here you go, atom. Thanks for your time on this.

I'm sure I'm a possible fault for this, but everything seems setup correctly. *shrug*

See there is something wrong with your driver version. You should be on:

Driver version: 1084.4 (VM)

You sure you are not ob 13.2 beta?
1084.4 is OpenCL 1.2 from what I can see and the 13.1 drivers are released with that as far as I can tell.

But, yes, they are indeed version 13.1 installed. I don't like AMD beta drivers on Linux.
Do you have the APP SDK installed?
atom is right, your libOpenCL is the wrong version. this is the libOpenCL that ships with 13.1:

Code:
epixoip@butters:~$ clinfo | grep 'Version:'
  Platform Version:                              OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                                       OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                                       OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                                       OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                                       OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
I have no idea how that got installed. No idea at all as I didn't do anything other than what I showed you.

Weird.

Okay, I accept PEBKAC blame (I'm not so proud ;-) now... but I am telling ya, I did nothing outside of install it the way I showed you on page one.

In any case, I did another reinstall... this time, I simply killed everything related to OpenCL (deleted a TON of stuff), reinstalled 13.1 (again) and now it works.

Thanks, atom and epixoip.
Code:
$ clinfo | grep 'Version'
  Platform Version:                 OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                     OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)
  Version:                     OpenCL 1.2 AMD-APP (1084.4)

That is what I have now, BTW.
One more post then I will stop bugging you.

Not sure how this is for performance...

System:
CPU: Intel Core i7 920
RAM: 12GB (7-8-7) 1600MHz DDR3
VGA: Radeon HD 6870 1024MB (no OC)

Averaged ~58,000/s from a dictionary. So, it did in 19 minutes what took aircrack-ng 13 hours to do. While that is very nice, I can't help but think it could be or should be faster.

Yea or nay?
