hi, i am new at this.
i run windows 7 and have a nvidia 8600gt video card
updated with the latest drivers

oclhashcat is not working, i think i need cudahashcat?
Is that the solution for my problem?
where can i download cudehashcat?

thanks
Hi,

When you download the oclHashcat archive (1.01), there are several Windows executables in it:
cudaHashcat32.exe
cudaHashcat64.exe
oclHashcat32.exe
oclHashcat64.exe

Just run the correct cudaHashcat to get it work.

EDIT: I think you are in the wrong forum, maybe you should have posted this thread in oclHashcat forum https://hashcat.net/forum/forum-38.html
now i got this error

i tried everything ,but can't figure it out
Moved to oclHashcat forum...

For any doubts about how to select the right -m (--hash-type) values and / or how the hash (+ salt) should look like, pls consider reading this wiki page:

thanks for the info, everything works fine now.
i have an other question,
is it a waste of time, to try to bruteforce a md5 hash?
Depends on speed, and the complexity of the password. If you extracted from a database i suggest you go onto the website and try to register an account somewhere and see the password rules attached to the registration, this will give you an idea.
