for cracking you don't need SLI

For cracking, don't use SLI.
What about the  GTX 970M ?? I know it is a little old but I have been searching for a new device and I am considering buying one with it, from this list actually

i have a laptop with a 970M (the G72) and the computer crash , actualy i am not the only one to have this issue.
i woudnt recommand u to do that on a laptop..
Any word on the performance per watt comparison between the 1080 and the 1070?
I apologize if this is a trivial question but I am currently building an Intel hashing machine and so far I have theses components

Motherboard: GA-Z170X Gaming G1
CPU: i7 6700k
Cooler: Corsair H110
Memory: 32 GB DDR4

Now the question is if I am to install 4x GTX 1080 which one should I go for the ZORTAC, MSI, EVGA, etc....

Should I opt for the one that has the highest clockspeed (1900 MHz if I am not mistake) or does a specific brand have an upper hand when it comes to hash cracking?

Thanks

the card u need is a refference card, reference = founder edition. those are suitable for cracking.
so it does not matter which brand u take since the spec for the card are the same.
u would suggest u to go for EVGA because they treat there costumer well and have a good name and have a good warranty, other than that nothing else.
the cards are the same in each brand as i explain above.
u should consider to have some fans in ur case (u did not provide that info) , if the card reach above 81-83C they will throttle, make sure it run less than 79c.

Thanks for responding to my question. Cool, will go for the EVGA's edition.

Sorry for not including this before but I plan to build a custom water loop including a CPU and GPU block that will feed into an XSPC Dual Radiator EX240 which I plan to have a push-pull configuration setup.

That plus case fans that will blow hot air out the back and cool into the front.

Now I don't know much about this sort of thing but I have read on here that maybe that's not the best solution. But don't take it from me: https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-5146-po...l#pid28413

Now I don't know much about this sort of thing but I have read on here that maybe that's not the best solution. But don't take it from me: https://hashcat.net/forum/thread-5146-po...l#pid28413

Oh wow I was a big support of water cooling till I read the link you provided. I guess with go with Air cooling and positive pressure and see if it's worth going liquid cooling.

Thanks again
