I saw a benchmark on the GTX 970:

Hashtype: descrypt, DES(Unix), Traditional DES
Workload: 128 loops, 256 accel

Speed.GPU.#1.: 89998.0 kH/s

Why's it so much slower than the 1060 ?

looks like an old hashcat version without using bitslice
