Hello, new to hashcat, Is there a tutorial or anyone can help me crack a password for a lotus id file. Its not personal, its for work, this person forgot the password and I need help cracking it.
Any help could be greatly appreciated.
Learn to use hashcat is the best way to learn to crack it. The wiki will provide you with everything you need to know on how to use hashcat.

Whether it supports your so called lotus ID is another question. What is "Lotus" and how does it encrypt passwords is what you should be providing first.
This forum is not here to request to crack your password.
Looking for this online I mainly see posts on how to use the "Recover Password" (
https://searchdomino.techtarget.com/tip/...s-password) with a special token that a Notes administrator has for your Lotus id file. Would that not be easier to try for your friend than to crack a password?
It would also help to know the version, as seen on
https://blog.elcomsoft.com/2009/04/lotus...-cracking/ they made it harder to crack after version 8.5
Quote:In older versions, only 64-bit and 128-bit RC2 options were available, but now you can also use AES (128-bit or 256-bit). Well, encryption itself does not actually matter, but the problem is that password verification routine is not much better (worse?) as well: 5,000/10,000 SHA-1 cycles have been added.
Hashcat can crack these formats (see
https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=example_hashes):
- Lotus Notes/Domino 5
- Lotus Notes/Domino 6
- Lotus Notes/Domino 8
