>>> Please feel free to disregard this request. I finally ended up removing all nvidia drivers and re-installing them. I'm not sure what exactly caused the issue (if it was just having multiple GPU's after a prior installation?) but it is now working great. My thanks to NoReply and all who put together the FAQ! Sometimes, waving a dead chicken over a problem will fix all your ills. If you have any questions regarding the specifics, I have my .bash_history and some web resources I can point you towards.

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to GPU cracking, and I've searched around for a solution to my issue but I'm not able to find any specifics.

I set up a machine with a GeForce GTX 1660, which after installing CUDA Drivers worked flawlessly. I recently have installed a second GPU (GeForce RTX 2060) to increase performance. The system seems to see the device, however when I attempt to start hashcat, it throws a "cuInit(): unknown error" message. The only thread I see with that error appears to be due to old drivers, but to the best I can tell, I'm up-to-date.

Any help would be appreciated. Below is output from the system. Please let me know if any other information would be useful.

Thanks!

John

Edit: After a bit more poking, I'm starting to suspect it's because i have OpenCL still installed, but I'm reluctant to move it just yet. I've appended output from clinfo in case that may be useful.

Although im not very familiar with these kind of problems, I would recommend uninstalling pocl. Also follow these instructions: https://hashcat.net/faq/wrongdriver

I was going through the FAQ earlier, but I'm a bit reluctant about some of the solutions this early in the process, so I was planning to wait to see if anyone had encountered a similar issue. I'll try out the pocl uninstall though.

Thanks for the suggestion!
