Best price / performance crunching rig competition - zeroprobe - 12-31-2013 I'll start with mine, CPU - £35 Intel Celeron G550 Motherboard - £70 Gigabyte Z77-DS3H Memory - £20 Corsair Value 2GB Power Supply - £84 XFX PRO850W 2x GPU - £500 2x Sapphire 7970 1x GPU - £100 Sapphire 7850 Extra - £15 2x riser cables Total - £824 ---------------------------- MD5 - 25329.6 MH/s SHA1 - 7873.9 MH/s WPA - 420K k/s A table for open cooling seemed best. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - Si2006 - 12-31-2013 those 3 gpus run at max with power supply. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - zeroprobe - 12-31-2013 Yep over clocked and 24/7 stable. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - KT819GM - 12-31-2013 And wattage this system consume? RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - radix - 12-31-2013 looks like an accident waiting to happen RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - zeroprobe - 12-31-2013 Just looks dodgy with all the cables. 790 watts I believe it drew last time I checked. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - Si2006 - 12-31-2013 Hope that radiator ain't on!, seriously get all that gear fixed down into some sort bench if you want an open air system, an ikea table doesn't do it for me. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - epixoip - 01-01-2014 most people in your "situation" would use a milk crate or something. RE: Best price / performance crunching rig competition - KT819GM - 01-02-2014 Somehow your benchmarks look not right. SHA1 is too low comparing to WPA/WPA2 which is a bit too high :/ also your PSU run on +-MAX load, it's also not right, you have to be on ~80% load to be safe. Can someone who knows a lot about power supplies pitch in, as out of the 790watts I've measured, 20% of that will be waste then, so my computer is actually using around 650watts. No idea about SHA1 , I just used the benchmark tools for that. For WPA I get 160k each for my 7970's and my 7850 does 95k. They are overclocked. |
