Thanks for clearing that up to me :-) I've made some rules, they're about 1,8GB each, but oclHashcat doesn't start cracking. Is it because the rulefiles are so big?

Would it be possible to change the workload while oclHashcat is running? F. ex. if you have your computer running 24/7 doing MD5 decryption, but you want to be able to use it normally without lag d...

Thanks for the answers, going to use all night on reading up on and creating rules ;-) EDIT: So to do prepended and appended, I'll have to do "^$1", "^$2", "^$1" etc. ?

Post: Two questions about hash files and hybrid attack

When doing an attack against a file with multiple hashes, does oclHashcat-plus do the whole wordlist (or mask) against one hash at the time or does it one word againt all hashes? Also, is it possib...

As said above, nVidia GPUs are slow, and Mobile GPUs are even slower.

GTX560Ti is better than the Quadro 600, but only 25k c/s total, at most. A 6950 can do almost 70k c/s. Here is some estimations: https://golubev.com/gpuest.htm

That's cool and all, but when setting the charset as characters "a", "b", isn't there something wrong then?

Every mask I set, HashCat reports that the mask is to big. Is there any way to resolve that? Like increasing host-memory?

I don't quite get how the charsets work, so I have a few questions. If I write "?l?l?l?l?l?l?l?l" as charset in oclHashCat, then I have defined a charset of 8 characters, ranging from aaaaaaaa-zzzz...
