Does this trick work on Office 2007 and later?

MS Office encryption is much more secure from version 2007 - AES was used instead of RC4, so there is no ... |

Thread: Differences in keyspace
Post: Differences in keyspace
Hi, I have been trying to compute keyspace with hashcat 3.6.0 and keyspace program from hashcat-utils and it gave me different results:
Code:

Please, any insights on this issue???
Am I doing something wrong or is this a nasty bug inside hashcat-utils keyspace program? |

Hello royce, thank you for the link to FAQ.
However, I know the differences between real keyspace and "hashcat" keyspace and that it is very implementation-specific. Anyway, I thought the "keyspace... |

Thanks for the replies, that's what I was thinking. We will have to stick with original hashcat tool then.

Thread: Hybrid attack splitting
Post: Hybrid attack splitting
I have noticed the hashcat keyspace in both hybrid attacks (-a 6 and -a 7) is determined by the number of passwords in dictionary. That means, when I want to split the attack into more instances, my -... |

Thanks for the reply.
My question was rather theoretical. I'm aware that example above is not a very useful one.
Considering a distributed solution using hashcat, where the user would be able t... |

This indeed solves the problem with timing. However, it creates a whole lot of passwords, which can be a problem to distribute among clients (that could be even geographically distant).
But I guess... |

Thread: Binary hashlist
Post: Binary hashlist
Several hashcat formats, like WPA2 hccapx or TrueCrypt, require binary input.
Is it possible to run hashcat with multiple binary inputs at once, similar to hashlists which are separated by a newline?... |

Thanks for the reply. I wonder how hashcat output behaves with such "binary hashlists"?

Hello, I would like to ask you about functionality of the --skip and --limit parameters.
Let me show you my problem on an example.
First I checked hashcat-keyspace of 8x ?l mask:

Sorry, that was just a typo I did in a post (I will edit it). I ran the computation always with mask ?l?l?l?l?l?l?l?l.
Thanks for the answer, this clarifies everything! |

Thank you for the extensive answer phil!
There should be no problem in generating new ones, I was just curious about the possibility.
Have a nice day! |
