Thread: Best Graphic card for hashcat
Post: RE: Best Graphic card for hashcat
Currently the best performing card is a GTX 1080 Ti, with the GTX 1080 following close(ish) behind. There are new NVIDIA cards on the way, but their performance for compute workloads is unknown.

Thread: Building cracking machine
Post: RE: Building cracking machine
I’d probably look for FE cards and a high quality 1600W PSU. A 1080 Ti can use 300W each, already putting you at about 70% of your maximum, not including CPU, HDD, and fans. |

Thread: Cannot run GTX 1070Ti on Ubuntu
Post: RE: Cannot run GTX 1070Ti on Ubuntu
Did you do
Code:
--
sudo apt install nvidia-390
--
IIRC that’s all I needed to do to get OpenCL on my Ubuntu box. |

Interesting Royce, I don’t recall having to install all that, I think everything came with the one line I had, but maybe I’m just forgetful. |

Most likely your drivers are not installed/out of date, OpenCL is not installed, or you don’t have compatable hardware. |

Flomac, I'd be weary using the benchmarks I provided on 411.63. They are anywhere between 5 and 10% slower than my benchmark on 398.82, depending on the algorithm. |

Try -w 4 instead of 3. Also, in my limited testing, Nvidia seems to have broken the latest drivers and knocked off 5-10% for some “older” cards. |

GTX 1070 is rated at 150W while the 1080 is 180W. That’s a total of 1230W JUST for GPUs. Typically, I shoot to have a few hundred extra watts of headroom.
Further, noise should be the smallest c... |
