Thread: Need help buying a rig, and not GPU based
Post: RE: Need help buying a rig, and not GPU based
Also worthwhile to note that Intel’s OpenCL runtime is crap for Skylake X. Haven’t been able to get my i7-7820X to run properly on Linux or Windows 10. There’s no reason to consider CPU crackin... |

Thread: Gtx 1050 Ti Experiences?
Post: RE: Gtx 1050 Ti Experiences?
Old Radeon cards are a fire hazard. Don’t use them. Only get a 1050 or 1050 Ti if they’re available in reference design (founders edition). You can also check out some GTX 9XX Maxwell cards which ... |

Post: RE: core I3 2100 dual core - Best gpu to use
If it’s a higher end AMD card, you’re usually safe guessing 300W+. My R9 290 drew a little over 300 and my R9 390X pair drew around 350W each. Got rid of those within a few days. Nvidia says their... |

Thread: Buying a new machine for Hashcat
Post: RE: Buying a new machine for Hashcat
Typically, it is recommended to match the amount of computer ram with your GPU VRAM. So for every 1080 Ti you get, you should have 11GB of RAM. In all honesty, I don’t think it is actually a require... |

Thread: Build configuration
Post: RE: Build configuration
Don’t get AMD cards for hashcat. Go with 1070s or better. Next gen cards don’t seem to have great predictions either (based on rumors) so I would really worry about that.
And if you’re using... |

2 1070s will be faster but will consume more power and generate more heat. It’s all preference. If you go with a 1080 you can always throw in another later on. |

Additionally, you can get a cheaper 1070 Ti and get *just* under 1080 performance at stock clocks. |

Thread: Quad 1080ti Workstation
Post: RE: Quad 1080ti Workstation
First, a 1080 Ti can and will chew 300W each. That’s 1200W already, not including your CPU, fans, and other peripherals. 1500W probably isn’t enough.
As far as liquid cooling, it will always k... |

I too would stay away from AMD cards. I repurposed an AMD mining rig for hashcat and decided to sell off my inventory for Nvidia.
As for distribution software, I use hashtopolis. |

Oh no I’m not arguing that they should be making them specifically for people other than gamers, I just wish they would’ve kept the most “compatability” for everyone. |

Flomac, I'd be weary using the benchmarks I provided on 411.63. They are anywhere between 5 and 10% slower than my benchmark on 398.82, depending on the algorithm. |
