Post: RE: NVidia RTX 2080

Paranoid as in they're intentionally nerfing older cards? Hmmmm, would be the first that I've personally seen by Nvidia but certainly not a first in the field. I'll see about testing with my GTX 980 l...

Post: RE: NVidia RTX 2080

IMO, when a card has a "295W" TDP... Vega 64... (which we all know is WAY higher in practice), it thermal throttles almost immediately, and is years behind and cant even compete competitively with a 2...

I was also a bit confused. The 1070Ti seems to outperform 1080s in some cases.

GTX 1070 is rated at 150W while the 1080 is 180W. That’s a total of 1230W JUST for GPUs. Typically, I shoot to have a few hundred extra watts of headroom. Further, noise should be the smallest c...

The HD7970 came out in 2012. It's too old and is likely a problem with the driver. It also usually helps to ask for help, not demand it.

I don’t know what you’re expecting. The card is too old and reposting the same information won’t solve it. Remove the 7970 from your system or skip it in Hashcat and you won’t see the warning...

Look at the screenshot you posted. It literally says the drivers are the problem. The card is too old.

You specify attack mode 3 (mask) but you don’t provide a mask so there is no work to  be done. Head over here and do a bit of reading https://hashcat.net/wiki/ (https://hashcat.net/wiki/)

Post: RE: Extensible Build Review

I haven’t tested myself, but I don’t think we’re nearly at the realm of AMD. My dual R9 390X each sucked up almost 400W. The 2080 Ti, while certainly a HORRIBLE card for the money, can’t even ...

Post: RE: Nvidia RTX 2070 vs AMD Vega RX 64

Honestly, neither. Vega will overheat and throttle very quick, and the RTX 2070 is way overpriced. If you can find a 1080 at $300-$400 that’s probably your best bet. I got a 1080 used for $300 a few...

The power consumption is half of what killed Vega. Unless you’re water cooled, you’re guaranteed to overheat within a minute or two. Stability is nonexistent in a large chunk of AMD cards.

Those coolers are also blowing heat around inside your case instead of pushing it out. Space then as much as possible and try taking off a side panel.

The problem is your card, which is from 2006, and not hashcat. As dioxide said, you need a GPU from this decade. The 8800 has 128 MB of usable VRAM.
