Thread: help with hashing wpa2 gtx 1080 hashrate
Post: RE: help with hashing wpa2 gtx 1080 hashrate
You probably have multiple handshakes in the .hccapx file. Additionally, nvidia nerfed the 400 series drivers and performance dropped by 5-10% overall. Further, I think something is off with tuning be... |

Sometimes the guest account is enabled by default, typically the password is empty. I’ve had hashcat crack these from time to time. |

I can’t imagine you’re running a 32-bit system. Try hashcat64.exe. |

You have 13 PMKIDs in one file. If you’re only targeting one network, remove all the others. |

I’ve had a cluster with 100+ nodes. You don’t need anything crazy. The only bandwidth heavy part is sending dictionaries to agents. The rest is just agent status etc. All done over HTTP(S).

You do it the same way as you would in hashcat. In the new task parameters, add -a 3 and then your mask. |

FYI, Intel’s OpenCL platform is pretty broken and you reaaalllllyyy shouldn’t use a laptop for cracking. You’ll melt it. |

Don't buy a Mac Pro for hashcat. I had the "privilege" to test drive one with dual D300s.

Thread: Building cracking machine
Post: RE: Building cracking machine
I’d probably look for FE cards and a high quality 1600W PSU. A 1080 Ti can use 300W each, already putting you at about 70% of your maximum, not including CPU, HDD, and fans. |

Post: RE: Buying a new machine for Hashcat
Typically, it is recommended to match the amount of computer ram with your GPU VRAM. So for every 1080 Ti you get, you should have 11GB of RAM. In all honesty, I don’t think it is actually a require... |

Did you do
Code:

sudo apt install nvidia-390

IIRC that’s all I needed to do to get OpenCL on my Ubuntu box. |

Nvidia drivers will limit a 1080 Ti to 300W to keep it within spec, and a 1080 will probably stay ~ |
