I would avoid The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali) as well. A simple Ubuntu (desktop or server) install would suffice just fine. Not to mention, half of the included tools you wou...

Post: RE: 1080 TI FE not buyable, 1070 TI FE on the rise

Just wait for Volta. It should be coming in the first half of 2018. 1070Ti is maybe a couple percent slower than the 1080. Overclock and it's a 1080. As taco said, removing the backplates should help ...

The HD7970 came out in 2012. It's too old and is likely a problem with the driver. It also usually helps to ask for help, not demand it.

Post: RE: Status: hashcat + AMD GPU + Windows

I don’t know what you’re expecting. The card is too old and reposting the same information won’t solve it. Remove the 7970 from your system or skip it in Hashcat and you won’t see the warning...

Look at the screenshot you posted. It literally says the drivers are the problem. The card is too old.

GTX 1070 is rated at 150W while the 1080 is 180W. That’s a total of 1230W JUST for GPUs. Typically, I shoot to have a few hundred extra watts of headroom. Further, noise should be the smallest c...

Be sure to install with --opencl=rocm flag set, otherwise you will either get an error or hashcat will just hang. I'm using 17.50 with 3 RX 480s and 1 RX 570 from here: https://support.amd.com/en-us...

I would guess your dictionary is screwed up then. Have you tried with another dictionary? This should likely affect every mode, not just 2500 if it were a hashcat problem.

Try -w 4 instead of 3. Also, in my limited testing, Nvidia seems to have broken the latest drivers and knocked off 5-10% for some “older” cards.

Those coolers are also blowing heat around inside your case instead of pushing it out. Space then as much as possible and try taking off a side panel.

The problem is your card, which is from 2006, and not hashcat. As dioxide said, you need a GPU from this decade. The 8800 has 128 MB of usable VRAM.
