something is not right there. i wonder if that gpu is not broken. might consider RMAing it. |

ah ok, you're passively cooling it. cool :)
i have no explanation for the speed difference, maybe it's just a lower binned chip. |

Thread: Strange Performance Issue / R290X
Post: RE: Strange Performance Issue / R290X
there's no performance difference between pcie gen2 and gen3 for hash cracking, and i can't think of any bios issues that would impact performance. so you're barking up the wrong tree.
it really so... |

Thread: GPU recommendation for the IBM System x iDataPlex dx360 M4
Post: RE: GPU recommendation for the IBM System x iDataP...
i do not know of any 1U or 2U systems that will work with Radeon GPUs. we've experimented with a few different models out there, and they're all designed for older, low power Teslas. |

Thread: Cracking Hash with Known Plaintext
Post: RE: Cracking Hash with Known Plaintext
depending on the algorithm, you could simply reverse the role of the password and the salt. for example, if the algorithm is md5(s.p), you could use the password as the salt and crack it as md5(p.s). |

280X is just a rebranded 7970, which is an Overdrive5 GPU. So no, od6config will not work with it. |

Thread: LM hash command
Post: RE: LM hash command
you're defining a custom charset, but using ?l (lower alpha) in your mask. so you're only brute forcing length 7 lower alpha passwords, you aren't using your custom charset at all. also if you want to... |

Thread: Cannot get it to work with salt
Post: RE: Cannot get it to work with salt
if you're going to specify the salt in hex, then you need use --hex-salt. otherwise, just use 80439F84D16111C24A7748F40B95F12696FB545B:foosalt |

the size would be the same regardless (in terms of keyspace), implementing a mask processor into the rule engine would not change this fact. |

Thread: is there still support for VCL?
Post: RE: is there still support for VCL?
The whole vclHashcat stack hinged on three proprietary, closed source products: AMD Catalyst, VCL, and oclHashcat. It was a great solution when AMD, VCL, and Hashcat were all in sync. atom does a grea... |

Depends on the 2U systems. The Tyan FT77 will draw ~ 2800W from the wall under full load. |

nvidia gpus are slow, mobile gpus are slow, nvidia mobile gpus are the slowest.
that said, the attack you are running is not well-suited for gpus, so you're not getting full acceleration. straight ... |
