| I do not use Afterburner as I do not use Windows. I use nvidia-settings/nvidia-smi, and yes I increased the power limit from 250W to 300W:

| AMD dropped support for VLIW cards so you will not be able to use your 5970 with Hashcat. A 400W PSU wouldn't power those hungry Opterons plus a 5970 anyway, you'd start a fire. |

| 1200W PSU will not be sufficient. There's no reason to skimp on the PSU, go with 1600W 80plus Platinum or Titanium.
I would go with 64GB DDR4 for that build, but you'll probably be fine with 32GB. |
