Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
This is yet another example of you copy/pasting things you've seen on the forums without understanding what they do.
You're using a -n value of 160, which is like 40-80x larger than it should be, whi... |

Thread: office2hashcat.py error
Post: RE: office2hashcat.py error
There is a difference between being password-protected and being encrypted. If it's not encrypted then it is not supported. |

Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
At 800 H/s you can only make 69 million guesses per day, so you need to do everything you can do reduce the search space. You'll probably want to write a program that generates an .hcmask file for all... |

Thread: Hashcat Gentoo - Cracks hashes twice
Post: RE: Hashcat Gentoo - Cracks hashes twice
hashcat-cli does not have full potfile support like oclHashcat has, it's basically just an output file and nothing more. The traditional way to solve this problem is to use the --remove switch to remo... |

It's amazing how someone who has been a programmer for 20 years cannot understand simple documentation.

Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
See my post on your other thread. Yes, 800 H/s sounds about right. 7zip is incredibly slow. You're correct, you'll never crack the password with the masks you've specified in your other thread. In fac... |

Thread: could someone help me with a mask?

First off, your command line is an utter train wreck. It's obvious you do not know what any of those flags do, you're just copy/pasting things without reading, learning, or understanding.
You spec... |

It tells you right there in the usage:

usage: expander.exe < infile > outfile

So in your case,
Code:

Thread: Newbie Question Sha512 Password not found
Post: RE: Newbie Question Sha512 Password not found
Cracks fine for me. Are you sure you don't have leading/trailing whitespace in your wordlist? "12345 " is not the same as "12345". |

Your mask syntax is incorrect. You should re-read the wiki page on Mask Attacks, particularly the section on custom charsets. |

Thread: new user confused
Post: RE: new user confused
Potfile is in hash:plain format, so the password is "hash234".
To show the password with --show you'd need to supply hashcat with the original hashlist. |

Maybe. Hashcat won't help you with this, but you could just write a quick cracker and find out. You don't need to save the output of anything, just write a cracker that tests if substr(md5(md5(str)), ... |
