Remove whatever you have installed, then follow the steps at https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_howto#install_amd_catalyst
But note that Debian is not officially supported by AMD. |

It's not a hash, but it is for the wallet itself, not your private key. |

No. Nor would you want to. Rainbow tables are a thing of the past. |

Thread: Sapphire r9 290x 4gb
Post: RE: Sapphire r9 290x 4gb
It's a really bad idea to let the BIOS manage the fan speed automatically, because it's programmed for gaming workloads, not compute workloads. You really must set the fan speed manually. Yes, it's ok... |

The reported memory is fine. Not all of the memory is available for compute tasks. |

Thread: is this the end for AMD?
Post: RE: is this the end for AMD?
That's a pretty good break-down. I'll break it down further:
AMD is hemorrhaging cash, and has been for years. Winning the bid for both consoles helped them for a couple of quarters, but they're lo... |

Thread: 980 TI Bench
Post: RE: 980 TI Bench
Usually on register-bound algorithms like MD4 and MD5 the card runs close to TDP (or over TDP in the case of AMD, which is why we have to set Powertune to +50%.) Titan X for example draws 235W at +200... |

Thread: cracking sha256 with a 2 digit salt
Post: RE: cracking sha256 with a 2 digit salt
You'd just build it into your attack organically. Instead of a straight dictionary attack you'd either use -a 0 with prepend rules, -a 1, or -a 6. With -a 3 you'd prepend each mask with ?d?d. |

Thread: cracking sha256 with a 2 digit salt
Post: RE: cracking sha256 with a 2 digit salt
If you didn't obtain the salts along with the hashes, then you'll need to crack the salts along with the hashes. This is trivial since the salt is only two digits. Basically you'd just use -m 1400 and... |

You're trying to compare single hash brute force vs multi-hash brute force speeds. Apples and oranges comparison. 10.5 GH/s for multi-hash when your single hash kernel gets 16.6 GH/s is pretty damn go... |

None of the Maxwell cards have issue with heat. Even the Titan X at +225 runs low-mid 60s. |

Titan X is the best. But no matter which card you buy, you'll never be able to brute force 95^8. You'd need 700 Titan X GPUs to brute force that in one year. |

''-w 2'' together with ''-n 32 -u 1024'' does not make any sense. Use one or the other. The latter is sub-optimal. Ideally you should use neither, and use -w 3 instead.
Further, Titan Z is not the ... |
