Post: RE: Need help setting Hashcat up

HashcatGUI is a third-party application that is not supported here. Our advice is to learn the command line.

wrong, R9 290 has a default target temp of 95C, and no amd gpu has a builtin "emergency shutdown" of 90C. mothix, your temps are just fine. the problem is your target temp is set to 87, which means...

a good power supply is cheap insurance, there's absolutely no excuse to not buy the best psu you can find. otherwise, you will likely end up buying another power supply AND motherboard. personal fa...

you can get a small increase by adding "-w 3" to your command line, but you shouldn't have very high expectations with that gpu.

Since you have to have good wordlists to train statsprocessor, it doesn't make much sense to use statsprocessor to build a wordlist. As stated above, its primary purpose is to extend oclHashcat-style ...

statsprocessor is built into oclHashcat and used by default anywhere a mask is used, so the only reason to use statsprocessor is to add oclHashcat-style per-position markov support to other applicatio...

ahhh, i see what you're saying. well if that were the case, i would suspect that he wouldn't be getting relatively the same speed out of all four gpus with brute force.

USB risers don't actually use USB, they're still PCI-e. running off of a x1 slot will increase host->device transfer times, but not by that much.
