Post: RE: Best way to crack LM hashes ?

if you have the power, brute force. if not, rainbow tables. lm is about the only application where rainbow tables are still relevant, provided you do not have sufficient compute power. of course dicti...

magnum, can you confirm that you get the same speeds at 925 Mhz as you do at 1000 Mhz or 1100 Mhz? this is driving me mad. even though the card runs hotter at higher clock rates, i can't seem to get a...

i will be posting a follow-up review tonight, but yeah, all of the issues i had with the 290X are resolved and everything looks fantastic. i was planning to create a ticket for OD6 as well, but i'm...

Cool, I'll have to experiment more with this then when I return from my travels. I'm interested to know what the temps are like at reasonable clock rates under ALU-bound workloads.

hey magnum, interesting that you were able to set the minimum clocks and that resolved the problem. I attempted to do so as well as alluded to in my previous post / update, but was unsuccessful. howev...

it's on my to-do list, but quickly slipping to the bottom of the list. it certainly looks like a promising alternative to VCL. and the team seems to be a bit more serious about OpenCL middleware th...

if you were to build it yourself it would cost around $13k. reason for doing it is quite obvious.

ambient is around 23C. no, they both run at the same temp. but the gpu that drives the display, even when just sitting at xdm, is always hotter.

it would be much, much slower than just cracking locally, regardless of how many gpus you had. it's opencl middleware, so everything is sent to the compute nodes in real time. therefore you need a ...

you don't really gain anything with expansion enclosures since you're still going to hit the 8 GPU limit, plus you have the drawback of increased startup latency due to sharing 8 devices over one lane...

Stay away from the 2027GR-TRFH. I know it looks tempting, six GPUs in 2U, but it does not work for our purposes. First, it requires passive GPUs with a special mounting bracket (which Teslas have.)...
