Yes, the GPU you linked to above is reference design. |

Thread: New build with Titan X
Post: RE: New build with Titan X
If you're using reference design cards with the RM41300-FS81 then you can safely stack 4 GPUs on top of each other without a gap in between each. Temps will be a little bit high, but should still be w... |

You need to generate a proper xorg.conf to fake having a monitor attached.

Reference cards have a shroud with the 1 smaller fan that expels hot air through the "exhaust" (a little vent next to where you plug in the HDMI cable)

Thread: R9 380 (Older R9 285) for build?
Post: RE: R9 380 (Older R9 285) for build?
There's really no good reason to use an AMD GPU in a new build. Should be able to find a GTX 970 for around the same price. |

Thread: R9 380 (Older R9 285) for build?
Post: RE: R9 380 (Older R9 285) for build?
They are different architectures so you cannot directly compare the number of shaders. For example, the GTX 970 has 1664 cores and capable of 3.5 TFLOPS, while the R9 290X has 2816 cores and capable o... |

32GB total, or 32GB free? And how many Titan X do you have?
cuMemAllocHost is returning CUDA_ERROR_OUT_OF_MEMORY so you're definitely running out of host memory at some point. |

You're not answering the most important question: 32GB total, or 32GB free? Are you observing the memory utilization while running hashcat?
It's not "normal," but it all depends on what else is run... |

A lot of people on the forums have reported issues and crashes on Windows 10. Might want to try another OS. |

Ok. Well in the meantime I would advise observing memory utilization while the benchmark is running, maybe you can pinpoint which algorithm is causing you to run out of RAM. Or if there's just a memor... |

970 is faster than the 390, and roughly the same speed as the 390X.
If you plan to stack two cards then you absolutely do not want axial fans, so the ACX 2.0 is not the way to go, nor is the 390. Y... |

Thread: Single CPU vs Dual CPU & Hashcat
Post: RE: Single CPU vs Dual CPU & Hashcat
In this specific instance the single X5690 will be faster.
E5430 - quad core, no HT
X5690 - six core with HT
That's 8 threads @ 2.66 Ghz vs 12 threads @ 3.46 ~ 3.73 Ghz. |

That's a fair question. I'm assuming this is old, decommissioned hardware that being sold for like $10 or something (at least I hope he's not paying more than that for it.) It will be noisy and power-... |

Hmm, stretching my memory to remember and too lazy to Google, but I *believe* the X5690 is equivalent to an i7 990X. So it was a pretty sweet processor for its time, but it *is* nearly 5 years old.

Those are not reference design GPUs. You will have serious cooling problems trying to stack four of those on top of each other.
You need to do some more research. |

Look at the block diagram in the manual (page 69) and the answer should be apparent. And if you really needed to ask this question, then you will likely struggle badly trying to get this system online... |
