Thread: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
Post: RE: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
Temps are a bit high for that card, GPU #7 is the only one that I see running in the range I would expect. However none of them are critical, 83C is fine. You don't really need to be concerned until y... |

Thread: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
Post: RE: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
You're using OEM design GPUs, not reference design GPUs, so that explains almost everything.
The other thing I'm curious about, is this is a 3U chassis clearly designed for GPUs with rear-mounted p... |

Temps are still about 10C too high, but that's to be expected with the GPUs you bought. |

Thread: Hobbyist Build
Post: RE: Hobbyist Build
Looks like it will be a solid build, you've definitely done your research. I will just make a few suggestions:
1. There's certainly nothing wrong with having more memory, but you may not be able to... |

Post: RE: Added 2nd Nvidia card…
Driver is not installed properly, or system is not configured properly. It's weird that you'd run hashcat with sudo. If you needed to in the past then that's a strong indication it was never set up pr... |

I'm not sure what I said above that implies it's only for one GPU. You can use it for one GPU, you can use it for 16 GPUs, doesn't matter... |

Thread: GTX 950 bench?
Post: RE: GTX 950 bench?
950 will be 2.67x slower than a GTX 980, but actually a bit slower than that even since it won't overclock as well. So I'd just divide 980 benchmarks by 3 and that should roughly give you the speed yo... |

Post: RE: What to replace my R9-290 ?
Should be able to hit 210-215 KH/s with the 980 while drawing about half the power of the 290. Can't comment on noise. |

Thread: SLI 970 vs SLI 980, or other.
Post: RE: SLI 970 vs SLI 980, or other.
First, you don't need -- nor do you want -- SLI. The fact that the title mentions SLI shows that you need to do some serious homework.
The 970 has the best perf/$, but if you can spare the extra $,... |

Thread: r9 390x Problems
Post: RE: r9 390x Problems
The 290X and 390X are literally the same GPU, so to say the 290X runs hotter than the 390X would be a fallacy.
Is this a reference design card or an OEM design card? And are you forcing the fan(s)... |

Thread: again AMD (290X/390x) vs NV GFX 970
Post: RE: again AMD (290X/390x) vs NV GFX 970
GTX 970 is roughly the same speed as 290X while drawing half the power, and won't damage your motherboard like the 290X will. And also fuck AMD. |

Thread: Another gpu question
Post: RE: Another gpu question
Correct, it is not a reference card, it is an OEM design based on the old GTX 670 reference design. Furthermore, the old "if it has 'GAMING' in the title it's not reference design" line really applies... |
