I should clarify that you only need to remove the back half of the backplate, the part that's easily removable. That's why it's removable, designed this way intentionally and intended to be removed wh...

GTX 1080 is the sweet spot for both Perf/$ and Perf/Watt. You should only get one PSU, 80Plus Platinum or Titanium if possible. The wattage is a simple matter of math. There's no reason to get ...

Post: RE: 4x SLI GTX 1060 Hashcat Rig

I have different advice. 1. No such thing as an "overkill CPU" now that Hashcat can use both CPU & GPU cooperatively, and modern CPUs with AVX2 are actually fast enough to make a noticeable differe...

AMD dropped support for VLIW cards, only GCN is supported now, so you will not be able to use any newer drivers. I believe Catalyst 15.9 is the last version you can use (though it might be even earlie...

For Ubuntu 14.04 you don't need to install any of those, just "aptitude install fglrx". This is covered here: https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=linux_server_howto

Yeah that's like 2 years old at least. I'd either install the AMD GPU driver or Intel OpenCL.

Correct, I wouldn't go lower than a 1070 in the GTX 10 series. Outside of that, a used GTX 980 Ti or GTX 980 should be within your price range.
