Thread: Learning to crack 7z archives
Post: RE: Learning to crack 7z archives

7zip is a very slow algorithm, so your attacks have to be very targeted. Also your GPU is not very good for hash cracking, so you have to be even smarter about your attacks than those with better-perf...

No, your GPU should be several times faster than your CPU for this.

Post: RE: RAR3 benchmark

-b uses -w 3, and 32 is likely too large of a -n value for your GPU. Workload is too large, so speed just hasn't had a chance to update. You can try manually running with a lower -n value.

Certainly won't be a replacement for rockyou, rockyou was 32 million. But good stats nonetheless. Will be good to correlate non-uniq between both.

970 is faster than the 390, and roughly the same speed as the 390X. If you plan to stack two cards then you absolutely do not want axial fans, so the ACX 2.0 is not the way to go, nor is the 390. Y...

Those are not reference design GPUs. You will have serious cooling problems trying to stack four of those on top of each other. You need to do some more research.

Post: RE: Backslash Problem?

Backslash is an escape character. You hashed nothing, and thus ended up with a null hash. The actual nthash of a single backslash character is aa6827f0d30e81d0ece457e99188b6a8: Code: -- epixoip ~ ...

GTX 970 is roughly the same speed as 290X while drawing half the power, and won't damage your motherboard like the 290X will. And also fuck AMD.

You would see 1/1 salts if it recovered the password for that salt. Since you failed to recover the password, that salt was not eliminated.

Windows builds are currently cross compiled from Linux using mingw32. I presume (possibly extensive) modifications would be needed to get it to build under Visual Studio.
