Thread: AMD Radeon R9 290X speed and noise.
Post: RE: AMD Radeon R9 290X speed and noise.
your benchmarks are fine, you don't have any problems in your first post.
in your second post, your card is throttling due to temperature because you only have the fan at 15%, and you're right at t... |

Post: RE: AMD Radeon R9 290X speed and noise.
oclHashcat doesn't touch the fans, so there is no default fan config for oclHashcat. you still need to use amdconfig or od6config to control your fans.
we set our fans to 90-100% on boot and leave ... |

Catalyst is a package containing several different products. fglrx is the actual driver.
you shouldn't be specifying --adapter here, just use "od6config --set fan=80" and "od6config --get fan"

Post: RE: AMD Radeon R9 290X speed and noise.
oh ok, 70C under load is just fine then. ideally you want it to be under 90C under load. though the 290X can safely be run above 90C, it will start to throttle if you get too close to 95C as you found... |

yes, 1050 Mhz core & 1375 Mhz memory. the `power=50' value is for powertune and tells the card it may use up to 50% more electricity than normal to power the card.

Thread: Ubuntu won't boot with more than 4 GPU's
Post: RE: Ubuntu won't boot with more than 4 GPU's
hanging while loading X means the driver is stuck in iowait trying to communicate with a gpu that was there, but is now not there. the issue is most likely with your risers. if it's not the riser, the... |

oclHashcat releases are tied to specific Catalyst versions. For the current release of oclHashcat you need to use 14.9. Newer drivers only work with beta, and in this case, it doesn't work very well. |

Yes, 14.12 is broken.
With oclHashcat you should be able to get ~ 130 KH/s out of an R9 280X with the proper driver. |

Post: RE: ERROR: cuModuleLoad() 301
Tesla uses an older driver, so that's why you're encountering difficulties. Current Tesla driver is 340.65 while current GTX driver is 343.36. cudaHashcat 1.31 requires 331.67 or later. |

Ah, well that would indeed be the source of the problem then.
Please create a ticket on TRAC for this.
In the meantime, you might be able to copy or symlink the sm_35 kernels as a workaround. No... |

Thread: GTX 970 Benchmark
Post: RE: GTX 970 Benchmark
Yes, as philsmd said, you forgot the most important part ;) You have to add rules to get acceleration. Otherwise you are better off using CPU. |

best64.rule is not enough rules to gain full acceleration. try using d3ad0ne.rule or rockyou-30000.rule |
