Thread: NVidia Pascal P100 announced
Post: RE: NVidia Pascal P100 announced
Nope, I didn't miss the big bump in base clock. First, base clock is irrelevant. oclHashcat runs at the boost clock until it runs up against PowerMizer. Second, we run all of our Titan X at 1515 Mhz. ... |

Thread: NVidia Pascal P100 announced
Post: RE: NVidia Pascal P100 announced
Ok, let's compare factory specs to factory specs then:
Titan X - 3072 * 1215000000 = 3732480000000
Tesla P100 - 3584 * 1480000000 = 5304320000000
5304320000000 / 3732480000000 * 100 =~ 142.11

Post: RE: NVidia Pascal P100 announced
Well 1075 Mhz is the "Average Boost" not the "Max Boost." A stock, non-SC Titan X will run at 1215 Mhz when cracking with oclHashcat. And as you know FP16 etc are worthless for password cracking ;)

It certainly does matter what Titan X shows under hashcat because this is the hashcat forums and how the card performs under hashcat is all we care about...

Thread: RX470 - only 14MCU ????
Post: RE: RX470 - only 14MCU ????
RX470 is essentially just a 7970 at heart, and does indeed have 32 MCU. I'm not sure why clinfo is telling you that you have 14 MCU, which would make it an HD7790/RX460. Probably a driver issue. |

You would need to write kernels that could handle salts of that length for that algorithm |

Thread: How Calculate GPU Cracking Time
Post: RE: How Calculate GPU Cracking Time
Speed was lower because you cracked the password immediately, didn't get a chance to do any work. Moreover, as was already mentioned, you need to add an amplifier to gain any acceleration. |

Erm, guys, this isn't hard. If the algorithm is e.g. md5(p.s) and you know p but need to find s, just switch them: use p as s and run it as md5(s.p). Same goes with hmac, just reverse k & d. |

Post: RE: RX470 - only 14MCU ????
Yes, the R9 280X is a rebranded 7970. And the RX470 is essentially just a 7970 with a die shrink. It's nothing special. |

Single hash NTLM brute force. We usually use NTLM when advertising cluster speeds since it's most relevant to pentesters & blue teams. |

The hardware and underlying software are primarily responsible for speed. The wrapper's role with regards to speed is fairly minimal, in that it needs to perform efficiently to minimize the overheard ... |
