Post: RE: Can hybrid attack work with rules?

I don't think that attack does what you think it does. Your plaintext input is "rafa3rafa3". If cain.txt contains the word "rafa", then "-a 6 cain.txt ?d -j d" will generate the candidate "rafarafa3" ...

Post: RE: [help] Unknown option --output-file= "error"

because --output-file is not a valid option. read --help, read the wiki. also you're using an old version of hashcat.

The video on youtube was likely using a very old version. Read the documentation. Understand what you are typing, and why.

Post: RE: Best gpu for $250 or lower

7970 doesn't run hot unless you buy an OEM design card, which you should never do. Always buy reference design. If you're open to buying used GPUs, then a used 7970 reference design would be within yo...

That is an OEM design card, not a reference design card. You will have cooling issues with that card.

Spaces are optional. The rule isn't failing, it just isn't loading because it's too long to be used on GPU. It will work in hashcat-cli though.

''-w 2'' together with ''-n 32 -u 1024'' does not make any sense. Use one or the other. The latter is sub-optimal. Ideally you should use neither, and use -w 3 instead. Further, Titan Z is not the ...

Titan X is the best. But no matter which card you buy, you'll never be able to brute force 95^8. You'd need 700 Titan X GPUs to brute force that in one year.

Assuming the plaintext provided is a valid password for one of the two hashes, it doesn't appear to be any of the modes Hashcat supports. Tried 1410, 1420, 1430, 1440, 1450, and 1460 to no avail.

Well, you have the hash string "MWw4MjlrM2loajFz:qu0VLHJPa2dNL6+7bRIpcRGcdInpFO6B5OGMgnyEeyM=", we assume the first part is the salt and the second part is the hash. Just convert it from base64 encodi...

Hashcat does not support PKZIP, only ZipCrypto. You can use JTR or something for PKZIP.
