i'd go with the Nvidia Riva 128, or maybe a S3 Savage 4. Voodoo 3 2000 shows great hashcat performance, too.

1.21 is more broken than 1.22 ;) bandwidth is not an issue, see my passwords12 talk. latency is the issue with ethernet. you're never going to get full performance with ethernet, it is not possible...

the explanation is that you need to set an environment variable or two to use all available video memory.

it won't affect performance, no. it will only help you e.g. load larger hash lists

yeah, we're ebaying all of our 290X's and sticking with 7970s for the foreseeable future. not enough time or patience to play games with AMD.
