Thread: oclHashcat gui issue
Post: RE: oclHashcat gui issue
To add to this, oclHashcat will not work with your Radeon HD 4870 anyway, as the HD 4xxx series does not support OpenCL |

Post: RE: 4x 7990 build
do you really mean > 5000, or do you really mean < 5000? if you mean > 5000, then go with the tyan ft77, hands down. if you mean < 5000, go with a UD7 in a Chenbro RM41300. |

Thread: Precomputed sets of hashes
Post: RE: Precomputed sets of hashes
yes you could do this.
just start by doing a standard mask attack against the hash. if you don't want to see what the input was, just use -o /dev/null --disable-potfile and hashcat will simply prin... |

Thread: New Build with dual R9 290s - error
Post: RE: New Build with dual R9 290s - error
yeah, we're ebaying all of our 290X's and sticking with 7970s for the foreseeable future. not enough time or patience to play games with AMD. |

Thread: Review - AMD Radeon R9 290X

what does that have to do with hashcat, or even with compute in general? reviews like this have been out there for well over a month now, and are completely worthless for our purposes. from a compute ... |

Thread: 15k budget - how would you spend it?
Post: RE: 15k budget - how would you spend it?
search through the hardware forum, we cover this a lot :) but the ft77 is definitely a great place to start, either with 8x 7970 or 4x 7990. and i'd absolutely avoid water cooling. also, i just sent y... |

Thread: 15k budget - how would you spend it?
Post: RE: 15k budget - how would you spend it?
there's a complicated reason for why i haven't done that, but the simple answer is, i have a financial motivation not to do so, and it would be inappropriate for me to advertise on these forums. |

Thread: two dictionaries and numbers
Post: RE: two dictionaries and numbers
you won't be able to use a pipe with -a 3 or -a 6. so you'll need to create a dictionary with combinator first, then use -a 6 combined_dict.txt ?d?d?d |

Post: RE: gui-hashcat-plus with 7970 problems
first, the gui you are using is deprecated. learn the command line, or use the third-party gui from md5decrypter.co.uk
second, you are cracking salted hashes. therefore the effective speed will be ... |

^ this. three or four 7970s will do well with it though. but you need to make sure that case can handle four 7970s with the UD7. most can't. |

that chassis you linked to definitely won't hold four GPUs.
the best chassis for the UD7 is Chenbro RM41300-FS81. |
