Thread: What to replace my R9-290 ?
Post: RE: What to replace my R9-290 ?
I'm not sure where you saw the 390 has less cores than the 290, they both have 2560. In fact the R9 390 is literally the exact same card as the R9 290, it's just a rebrand, so that would not be an upg... |

Thread: Wordlist
Post: RE: Wordlist
Bigger wordlist really doesn't translate into more cracks. I bet your 15GB wordlist is 80% garbage. Actually since it's a public wordlist that you downloaded, it's likely 90% garbage. So downloading a... |

Thread: wrong temperature assignment
Post: RE: wrong temperature assignment
There's no reliable way to match the order GPUs appear in OpenCL to the order they appear in ADL (though we do attempt to be smart about it), and neither order corresponds in any way to the physical o... |

Thread: wrong temperature assignment
Post: RE: wrong temperature assignment
I understand you fine, it is you that did not understand me.
oclHashcat uses OpenCL and ADL (ATi Display Library.) It does not read any sensors. It receives a list of devices from the OpenCL platfo... |

You're not telling Hashcat that the hash is 7zip. |

Thread: ocl v1.36 / WARN: ADL_Overdrive6_FanSpeed_Get(): -5
Post: RE: ocl v1.36 / WARN: ADL_Overdrive6_FanSpeed_Get(...
oclHashcat just reads this information from ADL, so it's not a hashcat issue. |

Thread: Can't reverse known hash ?
Post: RE: Can't reverse known hash ?
You're missing a mask. But that hash is too slow to brute force anyway. |

Thread: How to do a real-brute-force ?
Post: RE: How to do a real-brute-force ?
No. You're not specifying a mask, so it's using the builtin mask as documented on the wiki:

To do a "full lower-case alphabet brute-... |

Post: RE: ocl v1.36 / WARN: ADL_Overdrive6_FanSpeed_Get(...
Oh, yeah, that's a really good point, philsmd. I've received several bug reports for od6config where people are using OEM design R9 cards that are still shipping with OD5 firmware. |

Post: RE: clGetDeviceIDs() -1 while running oclHashcat
You shouldn't have the SDK installed, no. Nor should you have amd-libopenc1 or amd-opencl-icd installed. All you should have installed is the driver. See the wiki for how to properly install the drive... |

Thread: "bug!!" in output / ocl v1.36
Post: RE: "bug!!" in output / ocl v1.36
It's not Windows-specific, and it's not AMD-specific. I've seen it on Nvidia + Linux. But it doesn't trigger all the time, and it seems to be difficult to reproduce. |

Looks like you've tested 2 candidates in 17 seconds, so your speed is ~ 0.11 H/s.
This is totally expected.
1. bcrypt is very slow, and depending on the cost value (uknown from above output), it... |

There is a reason we tell people to use bcrypt. And, well, you're looking at that reason. |
