There's no real market for used GPUs now that GPU mining is dead, so used GPU prices are incredibly reasonable right now. Have a look at what's on the market, I think you'll be surprised. 7970s are se...

Completely disagree. As stated above, we had 24x 6990 and we couldn't get rid of them fast enough. The only card I've loathed more than the 6990 is the 295X2. The 280X is just a re-branded 7970 tha...

AMD is no longer better than Nvidia. I'd highly recommend you pick up a GTX 980 if you can afford it. R9 290X if you can't. Used 7970 if you can't afford that, either.

Just because a card is more expensive does not mean it will be better for hash cracking. Graphics cards are designed for graphics, and just because a card is better than another at pushing pixels, doe...

Both of the cards you listed are OEM-design cards, not reference design cards, and will not be good for hash cracking. Again, bus width isn't really what you need to be looking at. Do not make your d...

It's a 165W card, so no, cooling is absolutely not an issue.

SLI is not used for password cracking, nor should it be enabled when using CUDA. Always buy reference design, especially in multi-GPU setups. No exceptions. OEM cards are designed for gaming worklo...

there's nothing you can do, has to be done in code. i wonder if only the 290X was added as OD6 but not the 290. i'd open a trac ticket.

yes, you must be using x11 to use libatiadlxx. without x11 and libatiadlxx you have no way to control or monitor your GPU, which is a very bad thing.
