sort of.
supercl reduces the amount of kernel executions that occur over the network. instead of making one call for each kernel execution, it allows you to make just one call for *all* your kernel... |

Post: RE: Share your vclHashcat-lite speeds
Man, I have no idea what you guys are on about. The entire 5000-series in general is very power efficient and quite easy to cool, and the 5970s draw less watts than a 7970. I run all four of my 5970s ... |

Post: RE: Single CPU vs Dual CPU & Hashcat
In this specific instance the single X5690 will be faster.
E5430 - quad core, no HT
X5690 - six core with HT
That's 8 threads @ 2.66 Ghz vs 12 threads @ 3.46 ~ 3.73 Ghz. |

That's a fair question. I'm assuming this is old, decommissioned hardware that being sold for like $10 or something (at least I hope he's not paying more than that for it.) It will be noisy and power-... |

Hmm, stretching my memory to remember and too lazy to Google, but I *believe* the X5690 is equivalent to an i7 990X. So it was a pretty sweet processor for its time, but it *is* nearly 5 years old.

Thread: SLI 970 vs SLI 980, or other.
Post: RE: SLI 970 vs SLI 980, or other.
First, you don't need -- nor do you want -- SLI. The fact that the title mentions SLI shows that you need to do some serious homework.
The 970 has the best perf/$, but if you can spare the extra $,... |

A good solution would be to get a desktop or s... |

Thread: slow cracking WPA2 on GeForce GT320M
Post: RE: slow cracking WPA2 on GeForce GT320M
it is absolutely possible that it is faster on cpu than on your gpu. gpus are not magic "everything goes faster" devices. you're using a very low-end mobile chipset. |

VCL 1.22 has some bugs, hence the note on the VCL webpage.
the number of gpus has nothing to do with getting away with gigabit. ethernet latency is ethernet latency, regardless of how many gpus and... |

1.21 is more broken than 1.22 ;)
bandwidth is not an issue, see my passwords12 talk. latency is the issue with ethernet. you're never going to get full performance with ethernet, it is not possible... |
