atom is right, your libOpenCL is the wrong version. this is the libOpenCL that ships with 13.1: Code: -- epixoip@butters:~$ clinfo | grep 'Version:' Platform Version: ...

Post: RE: [ASK] About hashcat benchmark

using -n 160 -u 1024 will yield better performance than the defaults, yes. if the password is in the dictionary you're using, then of course dictionary would be faster than brute force. checking more...

    Thread: [ASK] About hashcat benchmark
Post: RE: [ASK] About hashcat benchmark

first, you should be comparing your speed to "PC1", not "PC3." second, you are benchmarking with 202 hashes, instead of one hash. this will slow down your speed by a factor of 202. 388k * 202 = 78376...

no, it will not damage your hardware. no, the operating system does not affect speed.

    Thread: [ASK] About hashcat benchmark
Post: RE: [ASK] About hashcat benchmark

your speed is 8750 M/s, the reference benchmark is 7500 M/s.. that 7500 M/s is using the stock clock of 925 Mhz. so if you have a ghz edition card, or are overclocking, then that explains why your car...

actually i don't think there's any technical reason it shouldn't work as long as your motherboard supports PCIe MR-IOV. from a technical standpoint, i don't think this would be much different from usi...

Post: RE: [Bug? 0.14] Wrong hash target

This is a visual bug only, it still finds the correct password. What you are seeing is not a "corrupt" hash, but rather the byte-swapped hash (SHA1 is big endian, x86 is little endian.) This is actual...

The modify password doesn't need to be cracked, it can simply be removed. Save an unencrypted copy of the file, then use any of the tools available on the Internet to remove the modify password.

because --output-file is not a valid option. read --help, read the wiki. also you're using an old version of hashcat.

The video on youtube was likely using a very old version. Read the documentation. Understand what you are typing, and why.
