Post: RE: Bruteforce + rules

I would use rule chaining here, i.e. -r best64.rule -r duplicate.rule

only 7 digits in length. you need to use -i if you want to do ?d - ?d?d?d?d?d?d?d

Post: RE: Bruteforce Keyspace Mythology

You don't really need to understand how hashcat calculates the base/mod loop sizes to use --keyspace. But if you want to understand, study https://github.com/hashcat/hashcat-utils/blob/master/src/keys...

define a custom charset that contains both uppercase and lowercase letters. -1 ?l?u ?1?1?1?1?1?1 it's all on the wiki, https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=mask_attack#custom_charsets

then you've made a syntax error elsewhere in your command. --help and the wiki can help you.

Post: RE: Brutforce too slow?

you don't need to define a custom character set for a single character class. instead of Code: -- -1 ?d ?1?1?1?1?1?1?1?1 -- you can simply do Code: -- ?d?d?d?d?d?d?d?d -- of course since your mask...

segfaulting on joomla with lite and newer drivers is expected. don't worry, lite will soon be gone.

Post: RE: Budget cracking machine

AMD dropped support for VLIW cards so you will not be able to use your 5970 with Hashcat. A 400W PSU wouldn't power those hungry Opterons plus a 5970 anyway, you'd start a fire.

No one has been able to reproduce this alleged bug, so I'm going to say it's probably something with your particular configuration or how you're invoking hashcat.

You're using ''-w 4 -D 1,2'' so your CPU is probably too busy cracking hashes to print the status. You can't expect responsiveness with these arguments...

Yes, -m 0 is broken in cudaHashcat 1.35. It's also broken in 1.31 - 1.33, though not as severely. Hoping 1.36 will be released real soon.

yashar26: You're going to start a fire with that configuration. Why are you coupling a $1000 GPU with a $100 PSU? The 295X2 pulls upwards of 550-575W under compute workloads (though Powertune will do ...

Ok, so in this case your 850W PSU *can't* push 850W, because this isn't actually an 850W PSU. The manufacturer is lying, basically. Your PSU has a single 12V 70A rail which is only 840W, and you shou...
