Thread: Building 8xhd7970
Post: RE: Building 8xhd7970
he'll go over budget doing it the other way, too. it's more complicated the other way, and as he builds and tests it he'll realize he needs to buy this, that and the other to get it working. it'll tur... |

Thread: Building a cracking password infrastructure
Post: RE: Building a cracking password infrastructure
GTX 980 is a great card, but R9 295X2 is not ideal for password cracking, especially not in a large multi-GPU environment. If you want to go with AMD then go with the R9 290X. Telsas are worthless for... |

Thread: Building a cracking password infrastructure
Post: RE: Building a cracking password infrastructure
R9 295X is not ideal because it uses a hybrid cooler and has a very low Powertune max target temperature, which causes it to aggressively throttle. Dual GPU cards are almost never the way to go, but t... |

Thread: Building a cracking password infrastructure
Post: RE: Building a cracking password infrastructure
For the algorithms that both Passware and oclHashcat support, oclHashcat is much much faster. Also, if you have a large number of files to crack, Passware does not support cracking them simultaneously... |

Thread: Burned out 12 V wires from PSU
Post: RE: Burned out 12 V wires from PSU
Hmm... It's interesting you'd have this problem with Nvidia GPUs. When I first started reading, I thought for sure you'd say you were running 6990s or 290Xs or something.
GPUs do tend to have a bad... |

Thread: bypass hashcat
Post: RE: bypass hashcat
'bypass' means skip the current attack and go to the next attack. Only applicable when using multiple wordlists or multiple masks. |

Thread: Calculating --keyspace for attack mode 1
Post: RE: Calculating --keyspace for attack mode 1
Ah, welcome to the joy of "real keyspace" vs "oclhashcat keyspace." :)
The real keyspace would be 41756867 * 41756867 = 1743635941655689, since each word from dict 2 is appended to each word from d... |

Thread: Calculating --keyspace for attack mode 1
Post: RE: Calculating --keyspace for attack mode 1
Right. Distributing CPU workload is easy because you have the actual literal keyspace and can simply divide it up as appropriate and this is consistent for all attack modes. But distributing oclHashca... |

First off, ''-m 3200 capture.hccap'' ??
Second, posting hashes is against the forum rules. Please take some time off to familiarize yourself with them. |

Thread: can hashcat crack md5($s.'-'.md5($p)) ?
Post: RE: can hashcat crack md5($s.'-'.md5($p)) ?
no, lite/plus do not have any mode that would work with that algorithm. but, cpu hashcat can crack them using mode 7 if you manually append a dash to each salt. |

Thread: Can hashcat crack NTLMSSP ?
Post: RE: Can hashcat crack NTLMSSP ?
hashcat isn't able to crack it, no. and i'm not 100% positive, but i don't think you have enough here to crack anyway. ntlm c/r is a four-way handshake, you only have one of the pieces. i also believe... |

maybe try https://github.com/psychomario/ntlmsspparse and see if that doesn't put it into a format that jtr can recognize. i think jtr jumbo supports ntlm c/r. |

Thread: Can hybrid attack work with rules?
Post: RE: Can hybrid attack work with rules?
I don't think that attack does what you think it does. Your plaintext input is "rafa3rafa3". If cain.txt contains the word "rafa", then "-a 6 cain.txt ?d -j d" will generate the candidate "rafarafa3" ... |

Post: RE: Can I use oclhashcat on a Radeon HD 8xxx?
HD 7000 and HD 8000 are one in the same. the HD 8000 series was just an OEM rebrand of the HD 7000 series. so yes. |
