Office 2007 is very slow. Four GPUs likely won't get you very far, especially if you have a lot of documents.

You are wrong, but not totally wrong. Depends on what you're working with.

Well, the specific part that was wrong was "GPU always performs better than CPU, even on slow hashes". Slow hashes are especially faster on GPU than CPU (until you start involving memory, that is) bec...

You don't need to figure out any 32bit libraries, just recompile it.

This has nothing to do with hashcat, you simply need to learn how to use your shell.

Post: RE: combinator attack : empty dic

-j and -k do not work with rules files. they only work with single rules. if you want to use the append rule then you need to escape it, else your shell will attempt to interpret it as a variable.

No. -j | -k are for single rules only.

You won't get an estimated end time because you're streaming candidates to hashcat and therefore it has no way of knowing how many candidates you are going to send it.

first, '-k ?d?d' is incorrect, that's a mask not a rule. second, you're likely seeing a lot of rejected combinations because the words in your wordlists are too short. a 3-char word + a 3-char word...

?b?b?b?b?b is not for the collision, but for cracking the RC4 key. Once you know the RC4 key, you have the first five bytes of the MD5|SHA1 hash. You then collide that hash to find a password that wor...
