That's not at all how that works. First, it would be $HEX[c2] and $HEX[a7], not what you have above. Moreover, $HEX[] encoding only works for wordlists, not masks. Maybe what you meant was --...

Brute force would take much longer than "several weeks." You're talking about a keyspace of 62^15 and that is just not possible to brute force. Best approach would be wordlist-based attacks, using ...

Post: RE: 15k budget - how would you spend it?

there's a complicated reason for why i haven't done that, but the simple answer is, i have a financial motivation not to do so, and it would be inappropriate for me to advertise on these forums.

it would be less of an issue if combinator in hashcat behaved like combinator.bin or combinator in oclHashcat-plus. but, it would be even nicer if the a0 and a1 kernels just supported longer lengths. ...

there's always a tradeoff, and a small loss of speed is an acceptable tradeoff to make something more flexible and more powerful. speed isn't everything.

At stock clocks you should be around 415 KH/s, with an overclock you should be around 530 KH/s. So yes, 290 KH/s is pretty low -- that's actually right in line with how a GTX 1070 performs. Assuming y...
