Thread: Question on hardware lifespan
Post: RE: Question on hardware lifespan
If you choose the right GPU and follow all the advice we've provided here in the Hardware forum over the years, your card should last a good long while. |

It's not a hash, but it is for the wallet itself, not your private key. |

Thread: Question about my home security vs Hashcat
Post: RE: Question about my home security vs Hashcat
correct, there would be 26^10 possible combinations to check. but, there are a few things you should keep in mind.
no one is going to attempt an exhaustive brute force a 10 character WPA key. they ar... |

Thread: Question about my home security vs Hashcat
Post: RE: Question about my home security vs Hashcat
if you tapped out "randomly," then it's not random. you are not capable of doing random. you may not be able to readily identify it, but your brain picked a pattern. that pattern may be guessed by a k... |

Thread: Quad 1080Ti Setup
Post: RE: Quad 1080Ti Setup
1200W PSU will not be sufficient. There's no reason to skimp on the PSU, go with 1600W 80plus Platinum or Titanium.
I would go with 64GB DDR4 for that build, but you'll probably be fine with 32GB. |

Yes, you MUST remove the backplates for any card which has a card adjacent to it. |

Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
See my post on your other thread. Yes, 800 H/s sounds about right. 7zip is incredibly slow. You're correct, you'll never crack the password with the masks you've specified in your other thread. In fac... |

Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
At 800 H/s you can only make 69 million guesses per day, so you need to do everything you can do reduce the search space. You'll probably want to write a program that generates an .hcmask file for all... |

Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
This is yet another example of you copy/pasting things you've seen on the forums without understanding what they do.
You're using a -n value of 160, which is like 40-80x larger than it should be, whi... |

Thread: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
Post: RE: qeustion about my hardware and H/s
The explanation is simple, the kernel is taking too long to run so the main loop is unable to calculate the speed. If you're still seeing 0 H/s with -w 1 or -n 1 -u 1024 then the GPU is simply too slo... |

it says the length is 8. it sounds like you just do not know how to read hashcat's output. |
