oh, yes, if you had the SDK installed then that explains your problem perfectly. it is well-documented on these forums that you should not install the SDK unless you absolutely know what you are doing...

1. You need to uninstall the AMD APP SDK. 2. Catalyst 12.10 does not support multi-GPU when x11 is running.. Either use 12.8, or ensure you do not have x11 running while cracking.

driver is not installed properly, or xorg is not properly configured. uninstall the driver, reinstall, and make sure to run ''amdconfig --adapter=all --initial -f'' afterwards.

just because you need to run x11 doesn't mean you need to run oclHashcat from within a window manager. you can still run it at console if you export the appropriate display.

You need to have an X server running, the user needs to have Xauth and/or ACLs need to be disabled, and the proper environment variable needs to be exported. Have a look at the wiki article on the top...
