Thread: Linux Headless Issues
Post: RE: Linux Headless Issues
I think these are two separate systems, and I think system #2 is using Catalyst 14.12 while system #1 is using Catalyst 14.9. The output here is almost identical to Catalyst 14.12 without setting GPU_... |

Have you tried removing the 6950? It seems to be causing some weirdness in there. |

Post: RE: Linux Catalyst Tutorial Still Valid?
Those four packages are not required to install the driver, only to build a .deb package. And actually if you remove multiarch support, it is impossible to install lib32gcc1 (actually this is like the... |

Post: RE: line skip hcmask file
not presently. but you could get creative... use an hcmask file for various keyspace ranges, then run through each hcmask file in a loop, using a lower markov threshold as the keyspace increases. |

You're not telling Hashcat that the hash is 7zip. |

you're exceeding the maximum salt length that oclHashcat supports. there's no way around this. |

Thread: Library dependence issue with combinator.bin
Post: RE: Library dependence issue with combinator.bin
Your distro is using glibc 2.13, but combinator.bin was compiled against glibc 2.14. If you want to use combinator.bin you will need to switch to a distro that has a more recent version of glibc. |

The best of the best is the Titan X. The S9170 is just an underclocked 290X. The server cards do not make any sense for hash cracking. |

Yes, the W9100 is the same as the S9170. Again, stay away from Firepro, Tesla, Quadro, etc. These cards use the exact same GPU chip as their desktop (Radeon, GTX) counterparts, just underclocked and s... |

No matter how many PC's you've built, if you've never built a hash cracking rig before, you will almost surely fail if you attempt to jump straight into building an 8-GPU rig. It's the equivalent of s... |

Thread: length dictionary
Post: RE: length dictionary
depends on the algorithm and number of unique salts. a 100 million-word wordlist is appropriate for raw unsalted hashes, but would never finish if you had 100 bcrypt hashes. |

Thread: Learning to crack 7z archives
Post: RE: Learning to crack 7z archives
7zip is a very slow algorithm, so your attacks have to be very targeted. Also your GPU is not very good for hash cracking, so you have to be even smarter about your attacks than those with better-perf... |
