Get rid of The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali). Or stop installing hashcat via The-Distribution-Which-Does-Not-Handle-OpenCL-Well (Kali)'s repository. Or run Hashcat with --openc...

The pipe may be the culprit here. Can you test with other attack modes to see if it is?

combinator mode works differently in cpu hashcat than in oclHaschat and combinator.bin.

The solution is to chown+chmod the oclHashcat directory. The workaround is to supply a different path for the induction directory, via the --induction-dir switch.

Post: RE: Nvidia Grid K2 card performance = bad

It's a Kepler GPU and thus lacking LOP3.LUT, your expectations shouldn't have been very high. It's not all about cores and clock rates ;) No, in this case PCI passthru is not to blame -- all pre-Maxwe...

No, has nothing to do with memory. In a mask attack candidates are generated on the GPU. The simple and obvious answer is that mask attacks are limited to 15 characters. Each attack mode has a diff...

Post: RE: WPA Time.Estimated bug ?

it's because of how many were rejected (32.24%). the estimated time is based on how many *valid* combinations there are, but over 1/3 of your candidates were invalid, so it was able to finish way ahea...

That VGA chipset does not have programmable shaders, and even if it did, it would surely be many times slower than your CPU.

Post: RE: Hashcat on VPS Virtual Server

My guess is that because the OpenCL runtime has no idea what your CPU is, it doesn't apply any optimizations when compiling kernels. Might be able to do some manual kernel compilation to circumvent th...

You would see 1/1 salts if it recovered the password for that salt. Since you failed to recover the password, that salt was not eliminated.

Post: RE: Are we going to see a 72 gpu rack in 2020 :)?

Yeah, I think he's misunderstanding what "rack" means in this context. 160 x GTX 1080 would be 20x 4U Brutalis systems in two 42U racks. The 10-GPU Klimax raises the rack density from 80 GPUs per rack...

Certainly won't be a replacement for rockyou, rockyou was 32 million. But good stats nonetheless. Will be good to correlate non-uniq between both.
