Wordlist attacks for sure, possibly rule-based if you are very smart about which rules you select, and maybe targeted mask attacks. Basically you're probably not going to be able to "cold crack" WP...

Rainbow tables are dead. They died years ago. Stop trying to resurrect them.

Kuci pretty much said it all. It's difficult to calculate what percentage of speed loss you will see because it depends on a number of factors (number of nodes, number of GPUs, network topology, at...

third-party wrappers like disthc are currently the only way to distribute hashcat over the internet

i vote for flexibility over speed. speed is great, but having a more powerful and flexible engine gives you more control and more creativity, and can lead to finding more plains faster. and that's all...

There is a difference between being password-protected and being encrypted. If it's not encrypted then it is not supported.

It should be possible to recover the password but I'm not sure of any tools that support that. The tools I'm aware of are able to simply strip out the password protection to allow you to open the docu...

Post: RE: Hashcat-plus and "not found passwords"

It does matter. Your mask is 8 chars long, and you did not specify to use incremental mode. Therefore it is not trying 0 - 99999999, but rather 00000000 - 99999999.
