Post: RE: Hash type?

This thread is getting all script-kiddie way too fast. We gave you way more help than we probably should have. We told you what type of "encryption" is used, and even gave you the key. You should be a...

the error you have pasted is not an error. maybe you can paste the real error.

Post: RE: hd7970 supported?

you do not have a 7970, you have a 7790. this gpu is supported in plus 0.15. if you're using 0.15, you likely didn't extract the archive with full paths.

Post: RE: hashcat 2.01 vs 3.1

In your first test you only have one device, in your second test you have at least 3 devices (though you've skipped #2). Is this really an apples-to-apples comparison you're doing? Also, have you trie...

The legacy driver will not work, and cudaHashcat will not work with your GPU, it is simply too old.

100% positive. cudaHashcat requires CUDA 7, and CUDA 7 does not not support your GPU.

Your -n/-u values do not make any sense. Just use -w 3 instead.

If you don't have a known ciphertext:plaintext pair then there's really no way we can help you. But what you're likely seeing is just a nonce / anti-csrf token which is typically generated with som...

no, he didn't. he posted it 30m after the hashcat release, and about 5 hours after the plus/lite release.

yes, and me and K9's point is that the beta versions are obsolete, so it does not matter.

Post: RE: Integer overflow detected in keyspace of mask

Keyspace is stored as an unsigned 64-bit integer. 16^64 is much, much larger than 2^64 - 1. You might want to do the math on how long it would take to crack 16^64.

If you choose the right GPU and follow all the advice we've provided here in the Hardware forum over the years, your card should last a good long while.

There's no difference between PCI-e 2.0 and PCI-e 3.0. Going from x16 -> x1 you will experience longer loading times, but the cracking speed itself is essentially the same (there are some caveats t...

You won't get an estimated end time because you're streaming candidates to hashcat and therefore it has no way of knowing how many candidates you are going to send it.

Post: RE: New build

The GPU you've selected is an OEM design card, not a reference design card, which we would never recommend buying for hash cracking. Further, I would strongly recommend the GTX 970 over the 290X.
