Post: RE: GTX 1080 FE Temperature & Power Requirements

More airflow? Not sure. You're not the first to complain of high temps, but so far I've not experienced them. But my chassis also push like 1000 CFM of air. Heat isn't the only reason the card can ...

Power limit needs to be set with nvidia-smi, e.g. sudo nvidia-smi -i 0,1,2 -pl 217

You will absolutely have cooling problems with non-reference design GPUs, especially in a multi-GPU setup. In addition to cooling problems, yes, OEM design cards are of inferior quality. I have lots o...

Yes, that's a reference design card. But not because it says "nvidia" on the board, I believe most if not all say that.

Post: RE: Require a little help here.

Right, in systems with only one GPU a reference card might do okay. But the fact that the 270 is only a 75W card is the real reason why it's able to cool itself well. You realize that's nearly half th...

Post: RE: Asrock H81 & Radeon 7990 incompatibility

the short beeps are likely related to 32-bit PCIe addressing. see if your bios has an option called "Above 4G Decoding" and if so, enable it. if it doesn't, then your board is not capable of 64-bit PC...

No, it's not a Windows issue, it's an AMD driver issue.

Post: RE: Asrock H81 & Radeon 7990 incompatibility

You're not really paying attention to what has been said. Your BIOS does not have the "Above 4G decoding" option, and therefore does not support 64-bit PCI-e addressing. That's why you're not able ...

Post: RE: Asrock H81 & Radeon 7990 incompatibility

7950 is a single GPU card. 7990 is a dual GPU card. Each 7990 counts as two GPUs. So you're trying to connect 12 GPUs to the board.

4x 7990 is 8 GPUs. That's the maximum the AMD driver supports. Not sure what you're not understanding about that.

5x 7990 is 10 GPUs, and the AMD driver only supports 8. So even if it did boot, it wouldn't work.

mask attack is usually faster, but for a slow algorithm like wpa it may not matter. but like you said mask attack also will not use any disk space.
