Post: RE: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
Temps are a bit high for that card, GPU #7 is the only one that I see running in the range I would expect. However none of them are critical, 83C is fine. You don't really need to be concerned until y... |

Post: RE: Nvidia GTX 980 ti
You're using OEM design GPUs, not reference design GPUs, so that explains almost everything.
The other thing I'm curious about, is this is a 3U chassis clearly designed for GPUs with rear-mounted p... |

Temps are still about 10C too high, but that's to be expected with the GPUs you bought. |

oclHashcat just reads this information from ADL, so it's not a hashcat issue. |

Oh, yeah, that's a really good point, philsmd. I've received several bug reports for od6config where people are using OEM design R9 cards that are still shipping with OD5 firmware. |

seems like you just answered your own question. hashcat is agnostic about the encoding of your dictionary file, it handles each word as a stream of bytes. the reason you cannot see the passwords in th... |

no, hashcat doesn't do any encoding at all. just as it will accept any encoding you input, it will output whatever encoding was used for the password.
again, hashcat works with streams of bytes regar... |

Just basic, elementary maths. Keyspace for this attack is 16^64. Fastest GPU (Titan X) can crack sha256 at 2.2 GH/s. This means you would need 1.6x10^54 Titan X GPUs to crack this password in one mill... |

I can't confirm with this specific chassis, but most of these GPU server chassis do not support high-power cards, and only support cards with a TDP lower than e.g. 225W. As such, they usually only hav... |

i do not know of any 1U or 2U systems that will work with Radeon GPUs. we've experimented with a few different models out there, and they're all designed for older, low power Teslas. |

Depends on the 2U systems. The Tyan FT77 will draw ~ 2800W from the wall under full load. |
