5970 cannot safely do 850Mhz without overvolting.
I would recommend flashing your 5970s with an overclocked & overvolted BIOS if you plan to continue overclocking. I use the "Pre OC vbios 800/1100 1.... |

Also worth noting that oclHashcat-plus v0.12 was released yesterday which does support mixed clocks. :) |

I used the DOS version, not the Windows version. I would probably recommend you do the same, not sure how well I trust Windows.
I used the exact instructions there in that post, and they worked very ... |

looks like you're probably trying to crack two handshakes at once instead of one. remember that v1.00 added multi-cap support so you need to clean your cap file to ensure you're only cracking the one ... |

also, why on earth would you use -n 160 -u 1024 for wpa? should be using something more like -n 32 -u 4096 |

Sure, just do a mask attack. Since the unknown content is variable-length you'd probably use an hcmask file. |

the syntax for -a 1 is different for plus than with hashcat. -a 1 works fine in plus, you don't need to pre-generate any dictionaries or use pipes.

wrong, R9 290 has a default target temp of 95C, and no amd gpu has a builtin "emergency shutdown" of 90C.
