i'm working on getting more debug information to mosix, so that they can hopefully figure out what is going on with 1.22. they know there is a problem, they just don't know what is causing it or how t...

Post: RE: Working VCL Configuration?

the two major issues with 1.22 are the devices randomly changing properties at runtime, and vcl thinking that devices are no longer available or are otherwise already busy. there definitely is a po...

    Thread: Slow VCL performance
Post: RE: Slow VCL performance

VCL 1.22 has some bugs, hence the note on the VCL webpage. the number of gpus has nothing to do with getting away with gigabit. ethernet latency is ethernet latency, regardless of how many gpus and...

1.21 is more broken than 1.22 ;) bandwidth is not an issue, see my passwords12 talk. latency is the issue with ethernet. you're never going to get full performance with ethernet, it is not possible...

I concur, out of that list Quadro M6000 is your best bet. Kind of a shitty situation though. You could get 4x Titan X for the price of that card :(

Yes, the Quadro is underclocked -- that's what Quadro and Tesla cards are, underclocked versions of the GTX cards. But it doesn't matter, you can simply push the clocks up.

Post: RE: Mac OSX 10.8 and 10.9 Questions

mode 1722 is OSX 10.7, which is salted, but non-iterated, sha512. mode 7100 is OSX 10.8+, which uses pbkdf2-hmac-sha512 with a variable number of iterations. therefore it is only logical that mode 710...

I don't see anything wrong with your command so it may be a bug, but I cannot reproduce it. What happens if you use other threshold values? Did you alter hashcat.hcstat in any way?

Hashcat is stable, but you're trying to use the same GPU for compute while also driving your display. It can't do both. That's why the display freezes, it's too busy cracking passwords to push pixels....

Reference design cards are all pretty much equal, regardless of manufacturer. That said, I personally have a strong affinity for HIS, as we've never had to RMA a single HIS card.

You should be able to get at least 400 KH/s out of a GTX 1080 on stock clocks. Look at raising the power limit and changing the PowerMizer mode before you start overclocking.
