Thread: cores or flops

Looking to determine what? FLOP perf is completely irrelevant for hashcat. Core count, frequency and architecture determines how fast a card is. |

Not true. I've got a Manli GTX1060 with a blower fan. |

Run your candidate generator on each computer running hashcat and use gate from hashcat-utils (https://hashcat.net/wiki/doku.php?id=hashcat_utils#gate) to split the workload. |

Thread: hashcat v 4.0.0
Post: RE: hashcat v 4.0.0
Looks like -w 3 in benchmark mode for some reason also implies not using optimized kernels (which can be turned on again by specifying -O). That's a little confusing. |

Thread: Hash Benchmark Much Slower Than Expected
Post: RE: Hash Benchmark Much Slower Than Expected
@Chick3nman: -O has no influence on benchmark mode. My own 1060's results are similar to the one in the referenced benchmark (on 4.0.0-rc1). |

@Chick3nman: he's using -b and hence should be using optimized kernels already I think. My single 1060 pulls roughly 20 GH/s, so a 1070 + 1080 should be faster than 27 GH/s. Wouldn't that be about the... |

It's hard to find benchmarks for those cards precisely because nobody even bothers buying them for hashcat. Here is a benchmark for P400, I have no idea how it compares to a P40 though: https://hashca... |

You need to make sure you save the wordlist with the correct encoding. I guess Veracrypt uses UTF-8 (just a guess). |

I wouldn't expect anything to run on such an outdated OS. hashcat probably won't run on that hardware at all due to missing opencl drivers. |
