Thank you for these benchmarks, atom! I just ordered one to replace my 5850. Power consumption is so low I could run 3 of these cards in place of my old one and still save some cents.

I'd like to line out how much happier I'm with my new 750TI compared to the 5850. My random KDE/Xserver crashes stopped and my mouse pointer does not occasionally get replaced by a ~300x300px artefact...

Have you tried observing dmesg (cat /dev/kmsg)? Sometimes it prints interesting stuff right before a crash (like driver problems).

The problem with buying used is that you might end up with almost exhausted cards from a bitcoin mining rig or similar.

If you have to pay for your power I recommend 980 over 290X. Are you considering using more than two GPUs later? Or will you stick to two?
