I'm not sure what you mean by "vague notions". Said section of this wiki article provides 8 lines of example code and 4 lines of explanation specifically for this single problem.

from the above output i'd say your hashcat is working fine. How did you try to kill the process?

wpa is slow. with aircrack you certainly did a wordlist attack. and this is not digit but digit+lower.

I guess your GPU is simply too old. It is based on the 8800GTS chip and nvidia has dropped CUDA support for this series.

you need the restore file and all files related to the cracking process (hash list, word list, etc). Also I think you have to put all files into the exact same path as on the old system. I'm not sure ...
